Dru yoga, yoga in a soft manner.
Dru yoga, also called 'yoga of the heart', has a straight beneficial effect on the powerful field of energy that surrounds the heart.
Dru yoga pays a lot of attention to easier dealing with emotions. When you can handle your emotions better, you're more in charge of your life. You will be less discharged and can use your energy for the purposes and goals you set yourself. Letting go emotions as grief or anger is done with series of exercises, called Energy Block Release (EBR). These are soft stretching exercises, turnings and bends that drain tensions from joints and muscles. We often use visualisations and affirmations to let go of the emotional blockage.
Dru yoga emphasises the silence within. It's also in the name: Dhruva Nakshatra means Pole star in Sanskrit. Like this star is a fixed point in the sky, within Dru Yoga she refers to the vast inner concentration point. Dhruva indicates still and unchangeable. Everything around you is in continuous motion, but in the centre there is total rest. In your heart you will experience this a s a feeling of calmness, acceptance and bliss.
Typical for Dru yoga are the quit, soft movements in the postures. Calm movements call few resistance and make sure that tension can be released. A lot of postures within DruYoga are variations on well-known asana's. The adjustment is mostly fond in extra relaxation and motion during the posture. Another starting point is that energy flows better when the joints are relaxed and nothing is overstretched. According to the Dru philosophy, thanks to the softness of the movements, more energy is released in the body and is allowed to flow freely.
The aim of Dru yoga is that you can better manage your life. Yoga is to be seen as a practice area for daily life. When you learn to move slower and softer, you can also become milder to yourself and others. Your life changes as soon as you start to live with more attention. Dru Yoga can help you with experiencing more moments of attention, firstly maybe only during the lessons, finally in your daily life.
